The central Remington Sesquicentennial Committee would like to announce that several items are now available for purchase for fundraising for the Summer of 2010 Remington Sesquicentennial. With estimated expenses of over $20,000 several items will be for sale and several fundraising dinners or events will be held in the coming months.
Currently several items are available for sale at the Remington Town Hall. There are two souvenir baskets that are available for purchase. The larger basket, sold for $50, features an engraved lid. The woodburned lid is engraved with the historic water tower and also has leather handles, plastic liner, and engraved brass tag. The smaller souvenir basket sells for $36 and features a cloth liner, brass tag, and wrought iron handle. A ceramic trivet with easel stand is for sale for $12, with a picture of the historic water tower on it. Sesquicentennial t-shirts are for sale for $10, with larger sizes for $12. They are a gold t-shirt with a sesquicentennial log.
In December, the Sesquicentennial Cookbook will be available for sale for $15. This was a very popular project with many recipes submitted by community members. A merchant coupon book should also be ready for purchase for Christmas for $12. All items are available at the Remington Town Hall located at 24 S. Indiana Street.
A fundraising dinner will be held on Saturday, December 12 from 5-7 PM featuring Taulman's Chicken. The dinner will be held at the Tri-County Primary School in Remington.
